'Tex' Original Illustration by Eric Radomski
Somewhere between a last call and a bad decision,
leans a man who looks like he rode into town on a horse that wisely kept going.
Meet Tex Uglie; A long drink of desert trouble poured into a crooked glass of swagger, Tex stands at the bar like a question nobody should answer after midnight. His hat tilts with the weary confidence of a gunslinger who’s seen too many sunsets and not enough good mirrors. The cigarette hangs from his lips like punctuation on a sentence that started in whiskey and will probably end in regret.
Behind him, bottles wait patiently, silent witnesses to countless bad ideas and heroic delusions. The mirror reflects the ghost of a ceiling fan lazily circling the warm air, as if even time itself has slowed down to watch Tex try to remember which town he’s in.
His vest says lawman, his posture says outlaw, and the revolver dangling from his belt says let’s not split hairs.
Rendered in bold color, sly lines, and the unmistakable wit of Eric Radomski, this illustration captures the strange poetry of a character who feels half tall tale, half late-night confession. Radomski, known for decades of shaping iconic animated worlds., brings that same cinematic storytelling to a single frame, where every crooked line and exaggerated shadow hints at a larger story unfolding just outside the edges of the page. Tex Uglie isn’t pretty. He isn’t polished. But he’s unforgettable.
